Love is in the air. And that month has finally arrived. February has arrived and with it comes Valentine’s Day. There’s no better time to embrace self-care and self-love than this month.
What are your plans for this Valentine’s? Have you thought of glowing up? How about becoming the best version of yourself and blowing him away? From skincare to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, in this post I’ll mention 9 simple glow up tips for Valentine’s Day that will impress him.
Ready? Let’s go…
Tip 1: Start A Healthy Lifestyle
You lifestyle is at the core of how you spend your daily life. Be it your mental health or simply physical health, a healthy lifestyle can do miracles within a really short time.
While I just cannot say: start a healthy lifestyle and call it a day, it’s going to your responsibility to follow them diligently. Here are some of them:
(a) Follow a balanced eating diet
(b) Workout
(c) Get enough sleep
Trust me, these three factors are more than enough to improve your lifestyle. It did for me, as it has done for many people. What you eat is absolutely essential because your physical healthy fully depends upon how, what and when you eat. Working out is as important. I don’t know whether you know this, but working out releases certain chemicals which are good not just for your physical health, but for you mental health as well.
Finally, there’s sleep. I read few years ago I read somewhere that a person who doesn’t sleep for 10 days experiences brain damage and slowly the immune system collapse. They also age faster than normal.
Well, now I guess you know pretty well how important it is to have a healthy lifestyle.
Tip 2: Stay Hydrated
Staying hydrated is the secret sauce to a better overall health. Majority of the disease is caused by bad water. I can’t even sum up each and every importance of water for our body.
These are some of the signs that you aren’t staying hydrated:
(a) Your digestion isn’t good
(b) You develop skin issues and lips are unusually chapped
(c) Your throat are dry most of the time
(d) You develop bad breath
I can go on with the symptoms. Believe me, if you stay hydrated, you’ll feel the difference in few days. Also, the quality of water is also necessary. It’s said that mountain water is the best. It can heal your skin and improve digestion within days.
It’s okay if you cannot access mountain water, but please drink clean water, and drink it enough.
Tip 3: Focus On Skincare
I read somewhere that if you do good skincare, you’ll need less makeup. Well, I don’t know whether this applies to every woman. You be the judge. But the thing is that if you follow a great skincare routine, you won’t have to use makeup to hide any marks in your skin developed due to an improper skincare routine.
Drinking water heals your skin from inside, but what about the exterior? When you regularly wash your skin daily, use essential oils, sunscreen while going in the sun, your skin loves it. It breaths properly and heals itself from minor issues.
But if you don’t clean your skin daily, it’ll will eventually get infected by skin bacteria which can cause real havoc. And you wouldn’t want to develop any kind of skin condition before Valentine’s day would you?
Tip 4: Don’t Forget Haircare
Don’t forget haircare. You are working hard to maintain a good skin, but are you paying enough attention to your hair?
Your hair is a key element of your overall appearance. It deserves tender, love and care. Like you treat your skin with face wash, toner, essential oils, etc. You should also nourish your hair with hair mask or deep conditioning.
You can also consider experimenting a new hairstyle for a refreshing look. But do this with utmost caution. Please remember that a well-maintained hair not only enhances your physical look but also somehow boosts your confidence.
This Valentine’s Day someone is going to turn their head for you. So give it your all.
Tip 5: Switch To Natural Makeup
Glow-up need not be to too full of colors. You can be simple yet glowing like an angel. And you know what? Men like it when a woman reveals her true self.
This Valentine’s why don’t you try something different? Ditch the heavy layers and opt for makeup products that enhance your natural features. It will allow your natural radiance to shine and will make you secretly beautiful.
And, in the better side of things, natural makeup feels lighter and also promotes more authentic beauty. In fact some well-known make artists are opting for minimal makeup that are enough to nourish your skin.
Tip 6: Love & Care Yourself
Okay, you’re working hard to glow up for Valentine’s Day, but don’t you think you’re forgetting a very important person? You. See, 14th February is not just about expressing your love for your man, but it’s also about cherishing and caring yourself.
Relax. Take a moment to observe whether you’re caring yourself enough. All this glow up will go in vain is you fail to love and care yourself. Take a relaxing bath, go out, take a walk in nature, and do activities that bring inner peace.
Glowing up won’t be an issue if you simply love yourself. And this is something you should always keep in mind.
Tip 7: Grooming
Grooming goes beyond skincare, haircare, weight gain/loss. Grooming is more about a shift from your usual self to a new you. Grooming increases your confidence, and enhances your overall appearance. In short, it’s a transformative process that makes you the best version of yourself.
Take a scan of your body at first. How are you going with your skincare routine? Are your working out well? How about haircare? Are you following proper dental hygiene? These are some of the questions you ask yourself while grooming yourself.
Pay attention to details. Are your nails trimmed? Are you talking well? How are you presenting yourself? Do you smell good?
I hope you get it. Grooming is like a contemplative process. You ask various questions to yourself and improve something that isn’t right on its place. Famous personalities go through strict grooming process to create a personality of their choice. If they can do it, you can too.
Tip 8: Improve Posture
If you follow a meditation routine, you’ll know how important body posture is for a good meditation session. Even a little slump and you won’t have the expected experience.
Anyways, meditation is not our primary topic, but the importance of posture is. A Harvard University study found that a good posture can improve a person mental health by decreasing anxiety, depression and stress.
I have observed this while working for long hours. I feel sleepy and thoughts are scattered when my body is slump. It magically vanishes when I stretch a bit and sit straight again.
A bad posture can decrease your confidence and make you look like someone who needs help. This Valentine’s day you should try to improve your posture as much as possible. Initially you might have to continuously remind yourself, but with time your body will learn to be maintain a good posture.
Tip 9: Set A Fitness Routine
Be true to yourself and me, when was the last time you did a workout? It doesn’t only have to be gym, it can be Yoga or any other kind of physical exercise. If you workout regularly, good for you. Continue with your routine.
If not, then it’s time you start working out regularly. Workout keeps you physical body at check. You’ll look great and your physical body won’t be an impediment when you want to use it.
If you’re just starting out, try to do intense physical workout only few days a week. Of course, you can increase the duration and intensity later, but as a beginner you shouldn’t push your body too much. With dedication you can improve by the next week.
