21 Common Habits Of Successful People You Are Missing From Your Life

What makes a successful person successful? They are human too just like us. But what’s so different in their approach? Do they eat something special, or are they no human? It’s their habit. Successful people have strict custom-made habits.

Hence, in this post I’ll mention the 21 best habits of successful people you should incorporate in your life. And believe me when I say this… If you can even embrace one habit from this list in your everyday life, your life will see drastic change.

Successful People Are Responsible

Successful people are quick to take responsibility. In fact, that’s what makes them responsible. Now, there’s a difference between just being responsible and actually taking action for that responsibility.

So, if you want to become successful, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a worldly success, success in a relationship, or overall success in your life; learn to take real responsibility.

They Set Clear Goals

Goal-setting is a big thing. And it should be! Why? Because you need to set a goal to achieve something on time and the way you like it.

Hence, successful people are pretty serious about setting a goal. Once set on something, they work diligently on their goal until they achieve it.

And you know what the most beautiful thing about setting a goal and finally completing it is? Your self-confidence and dedication to set another goal goes through the roof. You become addicted to setting stricter goals and completing them beforehand.

Mornings Are Important To Them

Rising early in the morning is a controversial topic. I won’t say that you cannot be successful if you don’t wake up in the morning.

But there must be some reason why a large number of CEOs of Fortune 500 wake up early in the morning. Tim Cook (CEO of Apple) wakes up at 4 in the morning and completes all rudimentary tasks before leaving for the office.

So, you can either leave the bed early in the morning and hit bed early, or you can be a night owl (like Elon Musk) and wake up late.

They Are Experts Of Time Management

Time management is a skill that only a few people are expert at. You can try this one little test to see how good you are at time management:

Make a routine for all days of the week. From Sunday to Saturday, try following it diligently. Try completing all the tasks within a day.

After a few days, you’ll start having issues regarding completing all the tasks. Initially, you’ll complete only a few tasks, but if you aren’t aware enough, soon you’ll only complete half of it.

And this is what makes the difference between success and the absence of it. Successful people are damn good at managing time. They have immense dedication towards their goal, and they complete them no matter what.

They Adapt To Changes Quick

Nothing is permanent! Everything changes no matter how much you like it. And the quicker you accept it, the better it is for you.

Successful people know it well. They don’t complain when something changes. Instead, they take it as an opportunity to grow and make the most out of it. These people have a sense of acceptance that no matter how much you like something, it’s bound to change someday.

Hence, please teach yourself to adapt and go with it. And believe me, your life will immediately change when you really accept it.

They Establish & Stick To A Routine

Can you recall those days when you went to school? We all had to follow a routine. Initially, we had issues and hated everything about it, but as time passed, we got accustomed to it because it benefited us.

That’s what routines are for. A routine will disrupt your life and set you up for something better, more geared towards something you want to achieve. The final struggle is to stick to your new routine. Please don’t quit it abruptly and go back to your old one.

Successful people meticulously design a routine and stick to it no matter what. They may break the routine only if they find it suitable for them.

Successful People Never Stop Learning

Be true to me. When was the last time you learned about something?
Was it yesterday or one year ago? Successful people have a habit of constantly learning. They never stop learning and say: “That’s it.”

Congrats if you already have this good habit, but if you don’t, then try taking this up. I’m sure you’ll love it.

Pre-Planning Is In Their Blood

Successful people only do something with planning. Almost everything they do is dependent on intricate planning and execution.

Of course, they also face situations when they haven’t planned something and just jumped into action. But that’s rare; they have trained themselves not to get shaken up by adverse situations.

But you might still need to train yourself for adverse situations. Hence, focus on pre-planning for now and later train yourself for adverse situations.

Successful People Are Good At Networking

Networking and connecting with people is one of the central pillars of a successful person. This trait is true for introverts and extroverts.

The only difference is that introverts speak less, and extroverts speak more. You might have seen this among almost all successful people. They know many people from different industries, even cities and countries.

They Avoid Procrastination

I will state this here and right now: Procrastination is a cancer. It consumes your life before you know it.

You’re trying to be productive because somewhere in your mind, you instinctively know that you’re procrastinating and want to come out of it.

Successful people know this, and they know how to tackle procrastination. If there’s one habit you want to embrace among all of these, then let it be this one. If you cure procrastination, everything in your life will come on track.

They Stay Clutter-Free

If You Want to Change the World, Start Off by Making Your Bed – William McRaven, US Navy Admiral

Who am I to guide you when this great man has already discussed the value of a clutter-free life.  You can experiment with one thing in your room. Keep your room entirely cluttered for some days. Leave for work/college after seeing your cluttered room every day for some days.

Now, after some days, start keeping your room as clutter-free as possible. You’ll automatically feel relieved, and your mind will work better just by living in a clean room.

This also directly affects your mental capability. Try it and see for yourself.

They Are Super-Dedicated & Intense

Living with a successful person is like standing under the hot July Sun at 12:00 Noon. They are intense and super-dedicated at everything they do, especially at their jobs/businesses.

Steve Jobs was like this. While some previous employees called him ruthless, he proved to be one of the top creative businessmen the US has ever seen. Jobs was super-dedicated, to the point that he turned furious whenever he caught any error.

You should be dedicated to everything you do. Your intuition will be on fire when you’re intensely dedicated and also take inspired action.

A few years ago, I experienced this intense phase when I had a unique business idea. You won’t believe it; I took action within a few days, pulled in all-nighters, and got the result within 30 days.

This is the power of being dedicated and intense.

Successful People Don’t Shy Away From Saying NO

Being the YES person is the worst you can do to yourself. A YES person is full of shame and guilt. Internally, they might not want to do something, but they have a guilt-complex. They don’t want to lose their good name.

On the other hand, the more successful a person is, the more they have to say NO. It’s not that they don’t care about advice and opinion, but they know which one to choose.

How many yeses and noes do you speak every day? Are they forced? If you feel a sense of guilt by saying YES, this is a sign that you’re a YES person. Please learn to say No to things that you don’t like. It’ll help you in the long term.

They Follow The 80/20 Rule

The 80/20 rule says that 20% of something is responsible for the 80%.

The 80/20 rule is very well-known among successful people. The beauty of the 80/20 rule is that it works at every step of our life. 20% of a company’s employees earn 80% of the salary. 20% of the World’s GDP is created by 20% of the countries.

Hence, successful people focus intensely on 20% and delegate the 80%. Doing this makes them even more efficient than they try to be.

You can use the 80/20 rule in your daily life. Embrace this habit as much as you can, and you’ll observe miraculous changes in your life.

Positive Visualization Is Their Secret Mantra

These people are experts at the Law of Attraction. They have trained their minds to the point that manifesting something is a piece of cake for them.

They Visualize before making any major decision in their business/life.

I am trying to remember his name, but this US businessman used visualization techniques to manifest everything in his business and life. Once, government officials raided his business because they felt something was wrong with it.

They thought this businessman wasn’t paying taxes and used illegal ways to make money. In his defense, this businessman asked the government officials if they could focus on a single thing for one minute. They couldn’t do it.

He said: “This is my secret.

This is the power of visualization.

They Are Voracious Reader

Successful people are voracious readers. Pick any CEO of a billion-dollar company, and you’ll find that most if not all, read a lot. There are only a few books they still need to read. Their library is more extensive than their bedroom.

Now, you don’t have to go out and read for 12 hours daily. Just pick one book and try to finish it within 30 days. It’s okay if you’re a slow reader, but you should at least start reading.
Reading improves your brain, and when your brain is healthy, you’ll face very little friction in your life.

They Ignore Things, Not Avoid

I read the crucial difference between ignoring and avoiding in a book. Ignoring is when you don’t focus on something present. You don’t accept its presence. On the other hand, avoiding is when you know something is present but continuously try to deviate from it.

The best example is your nose. Do you know that your eyes always see your nose, but your brain is trained to ignore it? See? Now that you know, you cannot miss it. Avoiding is usual, primarily when you are in physical or mental pain.
A Successful and able person is good at ignoring. They ignore 99% of the things in their lives. Or else all the stress would eat them up.

Successful People Are Serial Delegators

As I briefly mentioned, overachievers heavily use the 80/20 rule. Delegation is 80% of it.
Successful people primarily focus on the 20% because that’s more important and need more brainpower.
They hire people to focus on 80% of the work.

You might have yet to meet any immensely successful person who doesn’t delegate. Now, you may have no business, but you can use software for delegation. The best example is an alarm clock. You delegate the task of waking up early to the alarm clock.

They Balance Work & Personal Life

Leaving aside the hustle culture, successful people try hard not only at their work but also to balance their personal lives.

Though they may not spend 6 hours a day with their loved ones, they sure try to find at least a few minutes. Family time is necessary, primarily when you work hard to achieve something. It gives you the feeling of accomplishment when you see their happy faces.

They Never Try To Be Perfect

Please do yourself a favor. Don’t try to be a perfectionist. It’s one of the worst treatment you’ll give to yourself.

Being a perfectionist is a constant struggle. And successful people know this better than anyone. Especially the ones who have experienced failed business.

If you’re trying to be perfect, just stop it now. Because let’s face it, you’re never going to be perfect. You can be great, but once you start aiming for “perfect,” you’re pretty much done growing.

They Don’t Shy Away From Taking Breaks

Most successful people have this one thing in common. They take breaks, no matter whether they are short ones.

Taking breaks and enjoying vacation is an excellent way to cool off all the stress.

Try to avoid getting burnt out as much as possible. Unfortunately, in these times of hustle culture, burnout is not uncommon. Even popular YouTuber PewDiePie got burnt out and quit YouTube for some time before returning again.

They Use Productivity Tools Without Hesitation

A few years ago, I thought high achievers started everything in their life without any external tools. I thought they used no tools and went raw.

But oh boy, was I wrong. If you want to know more about how efficiently these famous and successful people use productivity tools, read the book: “Tools of Titans.”

Tim Ferris interviewed many successful businessmen and famous artists. He asked them what tools they used to make their life easy. Most of them mentioned either at least one or multiple productivity tools.

I was honestly surprised that even these famous people use the tools I have on my phone.

You should also follow their steps. Embrace as many tools as possible to make your life better. No matter whether the apps are free or paid.

Sharing is Gratitude...
